Kitsilano Workout is proud to offer a wide variety of sophisticated group fitness aerobic classes with exceptionally trained instructors. We believe that group fitness is an integral part of a person’s fitness routine, and encourage participation by making every one of our 70+ classes per week included in membership.
There are entry level, intermediate and advanced classes as well as group fitness that is appropriate for all levels. Kitsilano Workout offers half hour, 45 minute and 60 minute long classes. We offer a variety of cardiovascular workouts, low impact aerobics, high intensity plyometrics and sport specific training.
The Dance Department includes Latin Funk, Hip Hop, Indo Jazz, Dance Cardio n’Sculpt, and Belly Dancing. Taught by professional dancers, this has been a very popular choice for members to get their cardio workout in a fun and novel way. Our dance programs have replaced the traditional hi/low aerobics format.
The Yoga Department offers Power Yoga, Yoga Sculpt, Yoga Dance Mix and Hatha Yoga. Members have access to over 14 yoga classes per week, both beginner and advanced levels. All our Yoga instructors are licensed and trained Yoga professionals. Pilates classes are also offered in both beginner and advanced levels.
Our philosophy is to educate members on the importance of core stability training as well as proper functional movement. Many of our group fitness classes, including Aerobic ball, Butts and Guts, and Chiro Class specialize in these areas. We are thrilled to have three excellent Chiropractors on staff from Back2Health Chiropractic who teach the Chiro Class class, specifically designed for postural back health.
The Aerobic Step Department offers Step and Sculpt, Step and Strength, Step Power Moves, Intermediate Step, and Extreme Step. The classes offer a wide variety of formats, ranging from slower, more repetitive, less choreographed step workouts to high intensity, fast paced classes with lots of dance choreography. We recommend members try a variety of classes to find the one that best meets your needs.
Our Spinning program offers more than 7 Spin classes a week, located in our Lower Studio. Kitsilano Workout is pleased to offer Spinning room with 15 Keiser bikes for our members.
Members have enough variety to constantly switch up their fitness routine, add pizzazz and spice to their workout, learn new techniques and keep motivated! It gives our members the flexibility to participate in group exercise when it is convenient for them.
Kitsilano Workout also provides special events in the Group Fitness department, such as on-site spinal and postural evaluations from the Chiropractors, extended one and a half hour classes on long week-ends, and Aerobathon special events, such as our New Year’s Carnival Aerobathon.
